Eliminating Violence against Women: A continued Feminist Struggle in Egypt

 

The Egyptian feminist movement has undergone multiple waves of changes and multiple discourses of activism, marking milestones such as the Cairo Population and Development Conference in 1994, and the Beijing Declaration in 1995. The panel will provide insight and shed light into the challenges facing the current feminist movement in Egypt and the successes and failures of the feminist movement building within a context of prevailing violence against women, and the discourses adopted to faces these challenges.
